The History and Evolution of the Order of the Sabre (OOTS)

Founding and Original Structure The Order of the Sabre (OOTS) was originally proposed and established by TraeBellavia and billysilly573. The organization was conceived as an elite group within the broader CA structure, designed to recognize and cultivate skilled swordsmen.

The original rank structure underwent significant changes over time. The initial hierarchy included the following ranks:

Apprentice — Removed Knight Apprentice — Removed Officer → Baron of the Order Officer Master → Viscount of the Order Commander → Count of the Order Master Commander → Duke of the Order Grand Master → Archduke of the Order

Periods of Leadership and Dormancy The Order witnessed several changes in leadership across its active timeline before it was ultimately shut down. Despite its closure, the vision for the Order persisted and it was later revived by M1stigris. Initially, leadership was to be passed to billysilly573, but he later stepped away from the role.

To find a new head for the Order, an application process was opened for the position of Archduke. Many candidates pursued the title, but it was Subject722 who emerged as the most successful applicant and took up leadership.

Development Under Subject722 Under Subject722's leadership, the Order experienced a resurgence. A number of council members were appointed to aid in administration and event planning. The Order shifted its tryouts from the CA training camp—deemed unsuitable for such purposes—to a new game called Dueling Grounds, which provided a more fitting and controlled environment for skill evaluation.

Reform Attempt Under c_ammo When c_ammo became the overseer of the Order, he aimed to introduce a sweeping set of reforms to refine the group’s direction and prestige. His proposals included:

Selective Membership: Reducing the number of members to ensure only the most skilled and dedicated bladesmen were admitted. Streamlined Council: Reducing the number of councilmen and council positions to reflect the elite nature of the group. Skill Enhancement: Raising the overall quality and performance of the Order. CA-Wide Presence: Establishing a stronger presence across the CA community to enhance recognition and reputation. Medals System: Introducing medals to reward entry to the OOTS. Event Hosting: Using OOTS as the central authority for CA-Wide Sabre and dueling tournaments. Community Engagement: Fostering a more enjoyable and interactive environment for members. Outreach: Creating a channel within the CA regimental category to increase visibility and recruit aspirants. Rigorous Entry Process: Redesigning tryouts to be more mentally and physically demanding, ensuring that only the best candidates made it through. Collaborative Planning: Working with Subject722 and billysilly573 to implement ideas like the creation of a new NCO role for event hosting.

Unfortunately, most of these efforts did not achieve the desired results, and leadership was eventually returned to max1musrg08.

Final Closure In time, Subject722 retired, and without a new figurehead to lead the Order forward, the decision was made to shut it down once more. The Order of the Sabre remains closed to this day—a storied chapter in the history of the CA community that left a mark through its dedication to excellence in swordsmanship and its continual pursuit of prestige and recognition.
